This part of the Ecohydrology website is for people who need
to edit or maintain the website itself.
This will NOT include general instructions on how to use the
MySource CMS. These are available from here. I recommend
the tutorials section particularly.
The Ecohydrology Website
The Ecohydrology website is setup as a standard, UWA website
using standard UWA MySource templates.
These provide the top banner and the left side menus. Features
of these, such as the link colours and the text/links below the
main banner are set up in the Site Customization page and in
style.css,
which contains all the css used on this site.
If you look at the page tree of our site, style.css is an
attachment to the style page. Its file code 191433.
Click on this image to see a larger size.
If you look at the larger image (or the actual tree in MySource) you'll notice a
few things.
Many of the pages have the same names as the entries
in the left hand menu on the website.
That's how the menu is generated. It takes the names of the
pages which are live (green) and should be seen in the menu
(clear, not hatched) and creates the LHS menu from them.
Coloured entries.
Live pages are green. Pages which are purple are not yet live and
grey pages are archived or disabled. Pages which shouldn't
display in the menu have cross hatching over them.
The structure of the page tree is the structure of the
website. (Is this good or bad? It makes it easy for
editors anyway.)
