David Weaver

Dave Weaver is a Research Scientist and Project Manager, based at the Albany offices of the Department of Agriculture and Food, working in the fields of catchment management and hydrology to minimise eutrophication of waterbodies.

He is also responsible for Catchment Management Plans which provide for environmentally sound land-uses that sustain agricultural production and protect water resources and waterways from nutrient enrichment, and for monitoring the effectiveness of catchment plans in reducing nutrient loss.

He is involved in several national and state level programs including the National Eutrophication Management Program. Dave was selected as part of an expert panel for provision of overview of research into diffuse nutrient loss processes in Australia.

For the National Riparian Zone Program Dave provides local field expertise in the establishment, operation and interpretation of data collected in the physical and chemical transport components of the program.

He is also a participant in the Better Fertiliser Decisions network, the
CCI/NHT program guiding BMP adoption, the Nutrient Hotspot Identification and Management project and Watershed Torbay - a National Rivers Consortium funded project.

Dave is a manager of the new Nutrient Analysis Laboratory in the Albany Office of Department of Agriculture.

Dave has also worked with the EPA and with the UWA Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition.
